The University Hospital of the Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main is one of the leading Universities in Germany. The Medical Faculty was positioned among the 75 best Universities worldwide in the Shanghai Ranking Clinical Medicine and Pharmacy of 2012. The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy (CAPPP) serves the Frankfurt area (>1 Mio inhabitants). It has four inpatient and two day clinic wards, and a large outpatient clinic (> 2000 patients/year).The CAPPP serves around 300 new patients with ADHD and around 100 new patients with ASD per year. Research at CAPPP is organized in 4 areas: (1) clinical research (diagnostic & psychotherapy studies); (2) neuropsychology lab (executive function & emotion processing studies); (3) brain-imaging lab (own 2 x 32-channel EEGs; 2 x 3 Tesla MRI together with Brain Imaging Center Frankfurt); (3) molecular biological lab (genetic & proteomic studies). Christine M. Freitag is head of the department since12/2008, and has a long track record on clinical, brain imaging, neuropsychological and genetic studies in ADHD, and ASD. She has published around 200 peer reviewed articles. Hannah Cholemkery is Post-Doc and focuses on diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of ASD in her research. Heike Zerlaut is the database manager of the department.
